The Bianconeri manager has halted celebrations suggesting that he may part company with Udinese; insists the consecutive Champions League qualification is a historic achievement.
Francesco Guidolin has announced that he wants to take a break from his managerial duties at Udinese, and insists that he will not be ready for another season before July.
The Friulani clinched the UEFA Champions League qualification spot for the second time in two years, after they beat http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603, in contention for the crucial third place finish in Serie A.
However, their happiness has been substantially diminished by the revelation that the Bianconeri manager is on his way out of the club.
Guidolin insisted that the consecutive European qualification is a historic achievement for Udinese, and a joyous moment for him. The manager insisted that the win against Catania marks befitting end to a tremendous campaign,
and thanked the players for their support.
The Zebrette chief stated that nobody expected them to finish so far ahead in the league, and insisted that the surprise factor makes their feat even more memorable. The coach dedicated the success to members of the Bianconeri
squad, stating that their ability to overcome the difficulties during the season has earned them the qualification.
While talking to the Sky Sport Italia, the 56-year-old said:
“I am happy because we managed an historic achievement at the end of an extraordinary campaign. I compliment all our antagonists and thank my players. Nobody expected this and that perhaps made it even better than last year. The
credit goes to my players, who overcame even the difficult moments.”
Guidolin went on to state that the intense ordeal of the season has left him exhausted, and he needs some time to rest. The tactician stated that he has been under a lot of stress lately, and remarked that another 50-game season
maybe a bit too much for his already diminishing health.
The former Parma manager revealed that he plans to hold a meeting with the directors soon, in order to communicate his intentions to go off the grid for a while.
When asked if he will be willing to work as a technical director at Udinese, the coach admitted that it would be a good offer for him.
