The Udinese head-coach insists that tired legs were to account for their defeat against Attilio Tesser’s side; states his apprehension over the goal-scored in the match.
The match against Novara was the third game Guidolin’s men had to face in the past week. Two of those matches were played in the Serie A, and the other one was an away game at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar in Uefa Europa League.
The Bianconeri tactician is of the opinion that their commitments in Europe is to blame for the loss they suffered against Novara. The consequent effect of the defeat means that Udinese drop to the fifth
position in the Serie A, and two points adrift of third-placed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775.
Guidolin commented on the result, stating that the players were physically and mentally tired from their trip, stating:
“The tiredness from our trip to Holland certainly drained us mentally and not just physically. It was harder for us to get into the game, while Novara had not played for eight days.”
Novara had the luxury of having an eight-day rest, but they still had to contend with the sacking of their coach and the consequent appointment of Attilio Tesser. This might have been a boost for the Novara
side, who have been abysmal since Tesser’s dismissal.
Even though the form of Udinese has not been one to cherish for the Bianconeri fans, Guidolin is still hopeful that his side would continue playing to the level they have done so far this season. He further
commented:
“I hope that my players can continue to play as they have done this term because we know that we have done some beautiful things and a difficult moment like this was a possibility.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danilo-c10159 managed to score a goal, but his effort was deemed to be offside by the match referee. The 56-year-old tactician’s joy was stopped in its track by the match official’s offside flag.
He stated:
“I was told that the goal should have stood, but I can’t give a judgement even after seeing the replays. If it was a good goal then perhaps we’ll be favoured the next time by the referee.”
Guidolin will be hoping that his team can maintain their physical and mental levels for their upcoming matches in order to cement their Champions League position.
