Francesco Molinari satisfied with his second day's performance
The French Open at the Le Golf National is underway. The third day has begun and the players are giving their best. The event is being held at one of the trickiest courses in Europe.
Francesco Molinari is a player who has been in the spot light. The Italian player had a bad start on the first day, as he finished at par.
On the first day of the event, he carded a birdie and a bogey on the front nine. On the back nine, he scored two birdies and two bogeys. He completed the 7347-yard course in 71 shots.
Despite the bad start, Molinari had a great second day. On the front nine, he scored two bogeys on the third and seventh hole. The bogeys were followed by two consecutive birdies on the eighth and ninth hole.
On the back nine, the Italian just scored three birdies, which made his score for the day three-under par.
At the end of the second day, Molinari’s score was three-under par. Throughout the second day, his game witnessed no double bogeys or eagles. He completed the course in 68 shots.
After the second day, Molinari was very pleased with his game and the comeback he made. In an interview after the match, he said, “The wind is supposed to keep blowing and maybe pick up a bit, as well. So you know, it's good to be in the clubhouse under
par”.
“I’m really happy with the round. I played well. Hit the ball well off the tees, which is key here. And you know, just holed a couple of putts. I'm still, I mean, I can still do a lot better on the greens I think. But, you know, really happy with today's
round,” he added.
The Italian professional golfer had a bad start to the third day of the Open. He scored two birdies and four bogeys on the front nine. These made his score two-over par for the day and now, his total score is one-under par.
Molinari’s game seems a bit shaky. Nonetheless, he can still turn it around, as he still has one and a half day to play.
