Francesco Totti claims he has no intention of being a coach because he is far too good
According to the latest media reports coming in from Italy, Roma legend Francesco Totti has stated that he will never become a coach. Totti had an interesting reason behind his decision, “I am not sure what I will do after I finish
playing. I will certainly not go into coaching; I am too good for that.”
AS Roma hierarchy has made no secret of the fact that they would like Totti to stay with the club even when his playing days are over. It is widely believed that Totti will be offered the Director’s position at the club once he
has decided to hang up his boots.
The Roma legend has been blasted recently for his arrogance. Lazio legend Di Canio recently labelled the Roma skipper ‘A disgrace to his teammates’. The comment was passed after Francesco Totti left the ground following his substitution
in the victory against Inter Milan. Totti’s replacement, Mirko Vucinic, scored the only goal of the match deep in stop-page time, winning a precious three points for the Gilarossi.
Di Canio believed Totti failed to respect his teammates who were still on the pitch. He added that a captain should always be on the sidelines when not playing, motivating the players to give it their maximum.
Francesco Totti has a history of bad behaviour but despite his antics, he is wildly adored by the Gilarossi faithful. Only last season, Totti kicked Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli so viciously that the forward was left wincing
in pain. Totti was duly shown a straight red card and wild media criticism followed.
In the wake of recent comments, the media is more than likely to generate some controversy.
Totti and Roma are now travelling to Naples on Sunday to face a Napoli side in form. Il Capitano will have to back up his words with a stellar performance as the skipper has been not been impressive in recent weeks. The usually
prolific striker has failed to score this season. Even on his off days, Totti is a handful for any defence. The forward will be looking to assist his team mates with his sublime playmaking skills.
