The Giallorossi coach has stressed that he will continue to try out new methods with his team, and has hinted that the captain could be used out wide in the next season.
Zdenek Zeman has revealed his take on several AS Roma players after playing a practice game against Val Pusteria, which his team won with the score at 9-0.
The Czech tactician impressed at the helm of Serie B side Pescara, and is preparing the Giallorossi for glory ahead of the new season, after replacing Luis Enrique at the helm of the capital outfit.
Zeman has remained rather tight-lipped in the face of recurring questions about his plans for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Francesco-Totti-c13940, and he eventually let a few words slip after the practice game.
The Maggica coach stated that he saw the Giallorossi midfielder play well as a winger in his first stint at the outfit, and stressed that the veteran could be used in the same position in the next season.
The former Pescara manager was adamant that the game against Val Pusteria was not a competitive match, but just an opportunity for him to have a first glance at how the team plays.
The Czech international revealed that the focus of the practice was to see how the players get along with overlapping runs, and stated that while some of them did good others need to work harder.
Zeman was adamant that innovation will be a key feature of his campaign, and insisted that he will keep trying out new things in the days to come.
While talking to the press, the 65-year-old said:
“I’ve not given any indications. I found Totti as a winger [in his first spell with the club] and I think he can play there. The players had no specific duties today. I wanted to see how they played together. Today was not a football match. Overlapping runs
are the only thing we tried out today. Some did it better, others worse. We must work, from tomorrow onwards we will begin to try out some methods of play.”
