Totti has not represented Italy since retiring from international football in 2006. The striker managed 58 appearances during his eight year international career, scoring nine goals during the process.

Totti insists that he would relish the opportunity to return to the national side but he will assess his fitness in May before announcing his final decision. The talismanic striker insisted that he has good relationship with Prandelli,
and he is thankful to him for considering him in his plans.

While talking to the reporters, Prandelli said,
“Would I return to La Nazionale? Never say never. Let’s see how I am in May. I’m glad that a Coach like Prandelli would take me into account. I have always said that I have had a good relationship with him, even if I have worked
only a week or so under him.”
“He has done great things with the national team. If I arrive in May in this condition, I will consider it. The main thing is to be professional to the end.”
