Wow, that didn't last long. I'm disappointed, I don't think he had the opportunity or funding to show what he could do in NASCAR.

What do you think about it, NASCAR fans?

  1. he didnt last long he is way better in Indy anyway I thought it was a stupid idea

  2. Driving for Chip might not be the best way to evaluate a driver's ability.  Everybody says that he has the skills to be successful in NASCAR, given the right equipment and enough time to learn the tracks and handling of the cars.  It's too bad but there is so much talent out there these days that he will not be THAT missed.  I look forward to watching him back in the IRL.  Without the lost time because of the foot injury I think he might have made it the whole season and Chip's lack of sponsorship was not Dario's fault.

    3 STR8 N 08!!!

  3. Don't let the door hit you in the butt, Dario.

  4. Dario needs to stay and Michael waltrip Needs to go. It amazes me how someone with so little talent can mange to hang around as long as he has.

  5. I think it's fine.  He's proven himself to be a success in other genres and he doesn't have to do it here.  Maybe his heart just isn't in it.

  6. Thank GOD!

It was a bad move to begin with

And now he is replacing Wheldon at Ganassi, he will do great

  7. I always think it is sad when a driver loses their ride before given the chance to show their true potential. The world will never know.

  8. "I'm disappointed, I don't think he had the opportunity or funding to show what he could do in NASCAR."

    I agree 100%

  9. I agree, I think with a bit more time he would have surpassed JPM........I think he is better!

  10. The demise of CGR in the NASCAR series has begun...

    RIP Chip Gannassi Racing

  11. I think its for the better and i heard that yesterday.  He will be a lot happier.  I just dont think he got the hang of the nascar and I think him breaking his ankle in the crash earlier this year really put him down.  Best of luck to him-----

  12. When he ran in the IRL he always seemed to prefer road courses over ovals.  Combine that with Ganassi's junk cars and I guess he got tired of it before he got a fair shot.  I think he could have been decent if given some better cars and a better team to help him learn.

  13. Let's face it.  Ganassi sucks as a NASCAR owner.  He should get out and stay in open wheel, which is his true passion. He always seems to have money for open wheel but short changes everybody on his CUP program. NOBODY will be successful driving for this team in CUP.

Dario could be successful with a good team, but Ganassi has tight pockets.  He truly needs to leave NASCAR.  He's a bad owner. Dario got a very raw deal...

  14. I'm a IRL fan also, I'm glad he is coming back to IRL..I just think at his age coming over to Nascar was a mistake. But if he could have had a better ride with HMS or RCR, JGR, RFR, it would have been different.. Now the only thing that has me worried, what about Dan Wheldon he is leaving Ganassi IRL ride, lord we do not need his whiney mouth in Nascar. Ganassi is going to have to step up his Nascar program, or its going bye bye in Nascar.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  15. I find it hard to feel bad for a man who gets to race AND is married to Ashley Judd.  Regardless where he races, his life is phenomenal.

  16. I hate to see him go but I understand his decision and Chip's desicion. I dont think Ganassi give his team that he drove for all the possible resources to be sucessful. He is cool in my book.

  17. i wouldn't call it leaving, he didn't have anything to leave. he was lured in and pushed out before he got a chance. i'm going to miss seeing his wife around the track.

  18. He was a horrible driver. 0_o

  19. He would have been better off starting at a much lower level of NASCAR, driving at least 4 xs a week, in an open wheel Modified. He would have received a better understanding on how 32 drivers compete in a close wheel to wheel driving. I think someone throught him to the wolfes putting him directly into a Sprint Cup car. He has talent, it just needs to be properly directed.

  20. He didn't compete and paid the price. Juan Pablo opened the door for a lot of failures.

  21. I think he just got frustrated that he couldn't race, and he wasn't giving the results that he wanted to give. I didn't think it will last long, but I'm not mad that he left, or upset that he didn't stay.
