I have a Francis Francis X1 that is probably close to 4 years old. It worked fine during that time, but now we have moved to a house with GCIF outlets (with a breaker on the outlet). As soon as the machine is turned on, it immediately flips the GCIF outlet breaker. The machine works on outlets without the GCIF feature, but all the outlets in our kitchen are wired with GCIF. Anyone know the cause of this problem or how to fix it? Does it mean there is a short in the machine? If so can it be fixed? I have noticed an occasional problem recently with the machine--if allowed to get very hot while on the steaming phase before you actually turn the wheel to release the steam, the pump seems to switch off (so that know steam comes through the wand even thought the machine gets quite loud with steam hissing noises). Is this a sign of a short?
