Former Sochaux manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Francis-c13946 Gillot, has been appointed the new manager of Bordeaux to replace Eric Bedouet.
Bordeaux president announced the deal and said, "We chose him for his coaching qualities, his talent and his sense of humanity.”
Gillot left Les Lionceaux at the end of the 2010/11 season after failing to inspire his team to qualify for the European competitions.
Bordeaux had a dismal 2010/11 season after they finished on the seventh spot on the league table and could not win a single piece of silverware all season. Bedouet replaced Laurent Blanc as the manager of the club in 2010 but failed to inspire the team and
was sacked after almost seven months into the job.
Gillot has previously managed Lens between 2005/07 before joining Sochaux and guided the club to win the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2007.
Villa to take time over appointment
Aston Villa are reportedly ready to wait for three to four weeks before appointing a new manager of the club to replace http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gerard-c14664 Houllier.
Houllier had to be replaced due to health conditions after he missed the end of the 2010/11 season due to heart problems. However, Ancelotti, last night revealed that he has no intention of returning immediately to
take a managerial role at any club and will take at least one year break from football.
