Les Girondins’ coach felt ecstatic as his side cruised to a victory against Dynamo Kyiv at the Chaban Delmas. The Frenchman hopes that the Ligue 1 outfit would exhibit the same form in the league after securing a berth
in the next round of Europa League

The coach highlighted the importance of high morale for the team. The Frenchman was glad to see the determination shown by his players on the pitch. He acknowledged that despite playing at home, it wasn’t an easy task for Les Girondins.
He said:
"We needed great courage and self-sacrifice tonight, but it was very difficult.”
Gillot held out respect for the opponents as he feels that the Ukrainian outfit deserved to go through the next round. The coach praised Kyiv’s performance in the first leg that ended in a 1-1 draw. However, the Maubeuge-born coach
insists that it was down to the side that was more determined to go through, as Bordeaux showed real determination during the entire 90 minutes. He explained:
“Our opponents were certainly a better team than us on paper, and deserved to go through more than us on the basis of what happened in the first leg. We never gave up, and were rewarded for our courage.”

“Sometimes there is so much at stake in certain games that you are more motivated than usual.
Gillot hopes that the Bordeaux-based club can carry out the same passion, determination and performance in the league. The coach had no complaints from his players, considering the fact that the club operates on a limited budget.
The coach said:
“We are having an excellent run in Europe and what I would like now is to carry that on into the league, where we are struggling more, especially at home."
