FC Girondins de Bordeaux’s manager, Francis Gillot, was thrilled with the team’s performance in the victory against Olympique de Marseille. He was ecstatic following their rise to second place in the Ligue 1, and wanted the team to continue the momentum.
Following their victory at the Stade Chaban Delmas, Bordeaux have kept their undefeated streak against the Marseille-based club for the 35th year running. The win assured Bordeaux second place in the table, just one point behind leaders, Olympique
Lyonnais.

The former defender and current manager of Bordeaux, went on to state that:
"I saw a team triumphant, who wanted to move forward. The players failed to do things as they should in the first period, but we were able to regroup half-time.”
Gillot also said that:
“Being second is almost unexpected because, with the Europa League, we have used a lot of energy.”
Francis Gillot joined Les Marine et Blanc in 2011, leading them to 5th place in 2011/12 season. The Frenchman would be seeking to end this season with an improved position to prove that why he can be a successful heir to Laurent Blanc, who led
the team to win the Ligue 1 in 2009.
