Francisco Rodriguez joins Milwaukee Brewers: MLB Update
The Milwaukee Brewers’ General Manager, Doug Melvin, shared the good news on Tuesday, July 12. His team has acquired the services of the New York Mets’ reliever, Francisco Rodriguez, at a time when the team most desperately needed it.
Having remained the former All-Star reliever, Francisco Rodriguez’s induction in the Brewers means significant boost for the roster which has been straining for quite a while now.
"Francisco has been one of the best relievers in the game for many years," The Brewers General Manager, Doug Melvin, said in a statement. "He is a high-quality arm who will be a tremendous asset to our bullpen as we prepare for the final months of
the regular season and playoffs."
"He is going to bring the success he has had in his career, his confidence. He is going to keep doing what he is doing. You can't go wrong when you get that kind of talent. You can never have too many guys." he further added.
The 29-year-old Rodriguez is known for unpredicted variation with his fastballs. He has nine years’ of experience and brings the required confidence, which is necessary to pitch during under-pressure situations.
He has played a total of 42 games this season, pitched 42.2 innings, allowed 44 hits and 15 runs, which includes only one homer. He has maintained a 1.41 WHIP with 3.16 ERA and is expected to improve with the opportunities he will get in the days to
come.
In the previous 10 games, Rodriguez represented the New York Mets and lost two games. Other eight games were won in a charismatic fashion. This is the reason that prompted the Milwaukee Brewers to bet on him.
The Milwaukee Brewers have a considerably better record as compared to the New York Mets, that Rodriguez previously represented, which have won 43 games and lost 42 and stand 19th in the ranking.
The Brewers have won 45 games and lost 41. They are currently standing in the 10th position
in the league’s ranking and leading the Central Division with their 49 wins. It is therefore interesting to see how Rodriguez maintains this momentum of victories in upcoming games with Milwaukee Brewers.
