The Bayern Munich winger has expressed his delight after his side made it to the final of the UEFA Champions League at Real Madrid’s expense.
Bayern Munich winger, Franck Ribery, has voiced his pleasure after defeating Real Madrid in the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League and setting a date with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in the final. He was talking to reporters after the second-leg
of their last-four tie ended 2-1 in Madrid’s favour but 3-3 on aggregate.
The Frenchman mused that his side played extremely well despite going two goals down inside the first 15 minutes. He thought that the first two goals from Madrid pushed Bayern into attack mode which later proved to be decisive.
Ribery admitted that the Reds faltered under the immaculate pressure applied by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521 brought his side back level on aggregate, the things changed dramatically for Bayern
and there was much of a self belief amongst the players who tried desperately harder to finish the game in the normal time.
The former Olympique Marseille star hailed the entire side for keeping a cool head on their shoulders. He also showed his delight at reaching the final of the competition which will be Ribery’s first of his Bayern Munich career.
The 29-year-old failed to become a part of Bayern’s squad due to suspension that finished runners-up to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan in the 2010 final.
While talking during the post-match press conference, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international further added: "I am very happy. This is a great achievement for the club and for the players. We didn't show any fear out there and deserved to reach
the final. This will be my first Champions League final as I missed the match against Inter two years ago due to suspension. I am absolutely delighted."
Bayern will take on Chelsea in the final of the Champions League on May 19 at the Allianz Arena. The Blues defeated reigning European holders, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, in the other semi-final 3-2 on aggregate. It must be noted that Bayern and
Madrid had to go through the shootouts to decide who will contest the former Jose Mourinho’s side next month.
