The Bayern Munich star scored France’s third goal in Les Bleus’ 3-1 win over the Belarusians and has defended the ineffectiveness of Karim Benzema who is yet to open his World Cup qualifying account

While talking to journalists following the game, Ribery said that he felt better this time around and expressed his joy at being able to score a goal.

However, Ribery has backed the 24-year-old and says that Benzema’s lack of scoring does not worry him as he makes
up for it by doing other things that are important as well.
“He works hard for the team. He provided me a great assist and he also created opportunities. He is a burden of defences. It is always important for a striker to score, but I’m not worried about him. Be patient. We should give him confidence because we know
that Karim is very important for the France team.”
Indispensable part of Didier Deschamps’ side, Ribery feels that the atmosphere in the training camp is really good.
