Franck Ribery hails http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toni-Kroos-c35425 on his display against Villarreal - UCL News
Having provided two assists during the Champions League game against Villarreal, Bayern Munich midfielder, Toni Kroos, has received praise from his teammate, Franck Ribery. Ribery also reckoned that Kroos should be preferred over the first team regular,
Thomas Muller.
The French winger was talking in the wake of his team’s 3-1 win over La Liga outfit, Villarreal. Allianz-Arena hosted the game on Tuesday, November 22, where Ribery collected a brace while Mario Gomez scored the other goal for the hosts.
Ribery opined that Kroos had an outstanding 90 minutes against the Yellow Submarine and should be a regular part of Jupp Heynckes’ plans. He reckoned that the midfielder adapted well to an attacking position which clearly signifies his sheer talent.
Kroos was called into action as early in the third minute on Tuesday and created a simple opportunity for the Frenchmen. The duo was once again involved in scoring Bayern’s third goal of the evening after Villarreal had made it 2-1 after the restart.
The performance earned the midfielder a host of accolades from both his manager and teammates, who urged him to maintain consistency for rest of the season.
Ribery also reflected at the player’s role during Bayern’s 1-0 loss at the hands of Borussia Dortmund over the weekend. He was of the view that Kroos did extremely well to adapt to an attacking position after being deployed as a defensive midfielder on Saturday.
While talking to Sport1.de, Ribery further enthused:
"It's better for me when Toni Kroos plays as a No. 10. He is also better in possession of the ball, he gives good passes. The No. 10, for me, is Toni Kroos. Of course, it is not easy for the coach to decide. For Thomas Muller, it is a difficult situation.
He had previously done well in all the games."
Bayern have already qualified for the Champions League next round with a game in hand while the Yellow Submarine have been dumped out of the competition.
The Bavarian giants will return to league action on Sunday against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FSV-Mainz-05-c38166 before taking on Manchester City in their last group A game.
