Franck Ribery rates Bayern as favourites to beat VfL Wolfsburg – Bundesliga news
Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has termed his side as favourites to beat http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 in their next game on Saturday. He accepted the fact that his side were off colour in their opening game against Borussia Monchengladbach but insisted on making a
strong return.
The player especially urged the new recruits to settle down quickly and was confident about his team’s chances of winning silverware this time around.
Ribery agreed to what his Bayern teammate, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bastian-Schweinsteiger-c7374, had to say about the club’s performance in their opening game. The Frenchman did not hold any one responsible for that defeat.
At the same time, he admitted that Bayern missed a number of chances in the game against the Foals and probably deserved to lose. The winger further added that most of the players in the side must be oozing with confidence by now as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858
on Wednesday.
Ribery, on the other hand, did not feature in France’s friendly against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chile-c2871 on Wednesday, which ended all square at 1-1.
While talking to a local news channel, the 28-year-old expressed, "When you have success with the national team, the two or three days break afterwards is good for the head. Gladbach has been forgotten, now we have to win in Wolfsburg which is very important.
We need to be more aggressive in our game and cannot wait for it."
Ribery added that his side took last year’s relegation contenders very easy which was another reason for their defeat at home. The French international congratulated Monchengladbach on achieving such a result and wished them success in their future assignments
too.
The player told that manager Jupp Heynckes had a detailed discussion with every individual after that loss on Sunday and Bayern can’t afford to fall short of a win against Die Wolfe.
Ribery joined Bayern in 2007 and has 97 league games to his name so far, netting 31 times in return. He earned his French debut in 2006 and has seven goals to show until now from 51 caps.
