After his controversial statements on Saturday regarding his preference of the Bavarian club over the national team, the France international has said that he is committed to play for Les Bleus
Despite being back on top of his game for the national side and earning the respect and love of Les Bleus fans, Franck Ribery is still not free from a few minor errors in communication.
Following Bayern Munich’s 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in Saturday’s Bundesliga encounter, the 29-year-old said a few things that would have left most of the people in France infuriated.
“It’s been six years at Bayern. Here it is always great, I’m happy and I’m having fun. It is more important to me than the team of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899,” said the tricky winger to German reporters on Saturday.
Indeed those were controversial statements from a man who worked so hard to gain the love and affection of his country’s fans. However, it appears that despite living in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 for six years, the Frenchman’s ‘Deutch ist nicht gut’ (German is not good),
which was the reason why there was a serious communication error.
And, before any risk of damaging his reputation came up, the France international issued a statement in which he cleared things out by saying that it is ridiculous to compare between club and national football.
“I may not know German well enough to say things clearly, but it is clear that, contrary to what you want me to say, I don’t prefer Bayern Munich any less than France and vice versa. It is ridiculous to compare and contrast the two. Bayern is a great club,
I feel good here for years and it has always treated me in an exemplary manner. The France team, it is a totally different level. “
“Rehearing the French public chanting my name, it’s fabulous. While it is clear, I love Bayern and I love the France team, and I’m ready to give everything for the one as much as for the other.”
Keen to save his reputation and new-found image, it was indeed a wise move on Ribery’s part to clear things out before things get any worse. Improving his German might help too in this regard.
