http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Francesco-Totti-c13940 to stop his lazy habits: Serie A news
Recently appointed A.S http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 General Manager, Franco Baldini, has warned club captain, Francesco Totti, to abandon his lazy habits to prolong his playing career.
Baldini was recently handed the role at the club and will assume the charge at Rome in October. The 50-year-old is currently working as a General Manager with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello.
The former Bari midfielder has warned Totti not to involve himself in the political matters of the club and he should just focus on playing his game. Baldini added that the 34-year-old still has five or six years of football left
in him but only if he focuses on his game.
Talking to the reporters Baldini said, "Totti still has four or five years left in him, but only if he focuses on football and not on other matters. But he has to free himself from his laziness and from those using his name without
his knowledge. He has to stop his laissez-faire attitude; the lighter he is the further he will go with football."
The former Italian international is heavily criticised for his involvement in club’s important boardroom matters in the past too. Totti is considered as an icon of the Giallorossi for his lengthy services for the club and Baldini
might have risked the wrath of the fans by giving this interview.
It is believed that the striker has influence on the club’s transfer strategy and some people in the boardroom plan the player signings on his suggestions. When questioned about the interview given by Baldini, Totti refused to
comment on it and said that if he will speak about it, the matter will become worse.
Totti said, "I better not respond or this could turn nasty."
Roma were recently taken over by DiBenedetto group and the new owners have completely changed the boardroom staff due to several problems off late. The club have appointed new club manager in the form of Luis Enrique and Walter
Sabatini has been appointed as the new Sporting Director.
