The former Chelsea striker has stressed that the Latics can improve their position on the English Premier League table should they concentrate more in the closing stages of their games.
Wigan Athletic striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Franco-Di-Santo-c14060, has urged his teammates to concentrate more in the closing stages of the games if they are to achieve good results consistently.
The Latics are currently sitting 15th on the English Premier League table, only two points clear of the relegation zone. With only one win from their opening seven games, the Wigan-based outfit have been struggling to grind out results in their
favour.
And the 23-year-old attacker has insisted that his side’s failure to concentrate in the final moments of the games has been the reason behind their poor performances.
“It's nothing major that we have to correct. We just have to concentrate more in the last quarter of matches - particularly in the last five minutes - because that has cost us already this season”, Di Santo was quoted as saying to the media.
The Latics were set to claim their first win of the 2012/13 campaign at home against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leighton-Baines-c21987 coolly slotted home to seal
the game 2-2.
The Argentinean hit-man has insisted that his side has played good football thus far, while stressing that they were unlucky in some games as well.
“We have played well for most of the season and we have been a little unlucky in some parts of the games. But it's nothing to worry about because it's something that can be easily fixed. Everyone here still believes in each other 100 per cent and I am convinced
we are on the right lines”, Di Santo concluded.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 talisman, who has been plying his trade at DW Stadium since the summer of 2010, has commenced the 2012/13 brightly, netting three goals in six league games.
Di Santo, who has an expiring contract that runs until the summer of 2013, would be keen to add more to his tally, when his side resumes league action against Swansea City on October 20.
