  1. It has got to be England. No good has come of any association with the European Continent since Julius Caesar invaded us. Then came the Angles, Saxons, Normans, French and the Germans. Then there were the Americans and now the Common Market closely followed by Romanians, Bulgarians, Poles and the rest of Eastern Europe. What about us?

  2. I love France, I'd love to live there, I enjoy engaging in French conversation, when I hope I'm making sense to them!  THe cities are engaging, there's stacks of history just like us, their architecture is more adventurous and I they drive better!! They are less tolerant of people who do not conform to the French ways.  They do have the right direction regards family life.  It revolves around the dinner table, where the food is freshly cooked, and the social intercourse predominates at this time.

At the sametime, returning to the UK, it has some beautiful scenery unmatched anywhere in the world.  The culture present in our main cities is diverse and engaging.  The people are welcoming and friendly and tolerant of cultural differences.  Sadly our family life and food eating habits revolve around the telly, this is the one thing we could all learn from the French.  You don't see many fat French people!
