Jarolim has become a regular starter for the side in recent weeks and his displays have been impressive. The midfielder has played an important role in Hamburg’s revival and there were rumours that the club are willing to offer
him a new deal to stay.
However, Arnesen denied any such rumours and claimed that Jarolim has not changed his decision to leave Hamburg. He admitted that although the Czech’s displays have been great in the last few games, the club has no intention of
keeping him beyond the summer.
“We are very satisfied with David. He played superbly in our last two matches, which is fantastic for him and the club. But our strategy remains unchanged. Anything can happen but as things stand at the moment, David will leave
us in summer and return at a later time to work in our youth department,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The sporting director further added that Hamburg will not have the funds in this summer transfer window and some players are expected to leave at the end of the season. However, he admitted that the club will try its best to retain
their key players to make sure they stay in contention of Europe.
“We will not have the funds next season we had this term, so we have to save on player wages where we can. It won't make us worse though,” he concluded.
Hamburg will next face Borussia Monchengladbach at the Borussia Park this weekend and will be in search of their seventh win of the season.
