Frank Arnesen: Gokhan Tore is going nowhere
Hamburg SV Sporting Director Frank Arnesen has ruled out any possibility that winger Gokhan Tore will leave the club this summer despite rumoured interest from Russian side Rubin Kazan. He claimed that the player still has a lot
to offer and is a very important part of the squad. He added that the club wants to keep the quality players in the team and would not allow him to leave.
Rothosen midfielder Gokhan Tore has been heavily linked with a move to Russian giants Rubin Kazan in the last few weeks. The German side’s performances this season have been poor and there have been reports that the player is unhappy
and wants to move to a better club to enhance his chances of playing in the UEFA Champions League.
Arnesen claimed that the Turkish international is a very important part of the club and will stay despite the reports in the media. He stated that the club is not interested in any offers for the player as they do not want to sell
him at any cost.
The chief admitted that Hamburg are striving for a top ten finish at the end of the season and that cannot happen if they sell some of their key players. He confirmed that the player is going nowhere and will very much be a part
of the squad.
“Gokhan Tore is a player of our club; he is a first-team regular. There is no sort of pain-barrier in terms of bids and offers; he is just not for sale. He is staying on,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Tore also confirmed the news and claimed that he is currently focusing on improving his form and attaining a good finish for his side. The player expressed his delight on being linked with Rubin Kazan but admitted that he has no
intentions of leaving.
“It is an honour for me to see a club like this keen on my services after just six months of duty in the Bundesliga. I am actually focused on Hamburg. I am very happy with my situation at the club,” he concluded.
Hamburg SV are currently sitting in 15th place with 14 points from the 14 games played.
