The Hamburg sporting director wants to bring more players to Germany from Chelsea’s reserves squad in the summer transfer window.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hamburger-SV-c39485 are short on funds but want to bring in a few fresh faces prior to the start of next season in order to put the team on the right track. The Red Shorts are currently fighting to avoid relegation and their sporting
director, Frank Arnesen, is working on his options for the summer.
The Imtech Arena outfit tied knots with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 last year and aims to bring more players from the London-based club. Arnesen stated that he has
a few possible candidates in his mind who might be interested to play in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 and has stated that he will hold talks with them in the coming week.
Arnesen was previously employed as Chelsea’s sporting director and joined Hamburg prior to the start of the 2011/12 campaign. He was also the caretaker manager at the club last year in October following the sacking of former manager,
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Oenning. While talking to sports website, bild.com, the 55-year-old further added:
"I have three or four appointments. We do not have much money. For something to happen, the players must be good. I do not want to wait until June 1 to have clarity. I know that there will be no decision now, but I would like to
have a sense of how it looks."
Arnesen also commented on the possible arrival of Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper, Rene Adler. The shot stopper has fallen down the pecking order at BayArena with Bernd Leno replacing him as the first choice keeper.
Adler has already passed his medical with Hamburg but no final talks have taken place between the two parties. The sporting director, though, assured that the goalkeeper will soon sign a permanent deal at the club despite an unnecessary
delay in the negotiations.
"This is the normal procedure for a player of his calibre. I have no problem if it takes three or four weeks,” Arnesen concluded.
Hamburg are currently 13th on the league standings with 27 points from 24 games, five points clear of the danger zone. They will next be in action against Schalke on Sunday, March 11, at the Veltins-Arena.
