Frank Lampard blats ‘nonsense’ reports, says Didier Drogba’s committed to Chelsea
Chelsea’s talismanic midfielder Frank Lampard has praised the commitment level of his team mate http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044. He said that despite being dropped from a number of games since the arrival of Fernando Torres, Drogba has been a real team-player keeping his
head high and not complaining.
The striker from Ivory Coast has been one of the most influential player for Chelsea in the last few seasons, and has led their attack with distinction. However, he now finds himself in competition with the latest arrival at Stamford Bridge: Fernando Torres.
The Spaniard was signed by the Premier League champions for a record fee of £ 50 million from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, on the deadline day of the winter transfer window.
The last couple of game has seen http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicolas-Anelka-c27786, while Drogba has been reduced to the bench. There were reports that the Ivorian is losing his patience and does not like being the 3rd choice striker at
Chelsea.
However http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097 has insisted that Drogba has been working hard to get his place back, and has not complained even once about being left out of the team.
Lampard, who scored the penalty that won Chelsea the match against Manchester United, believes that it is a blessing for Chelsea to have 3 of the best strikers in the world in their ranks.
While talking to a British newspaper Lampard said that: “His reaction to losing his place has been brilliant and it is a load of nonsense when people say he has the hump. It has been far from that.”
“He has been getting behind the lads, telling us to 'come on'. He has trained with commitment and played with commitment as a substitute. It is nonsense to say he is sulking.”
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ashley-Cole-c6809. Cole had been under the hammer for his off-field antics. The former Arsenal player had brought an air rifle to the Chelsea training facility, and
had accidently shot a trainee. He was reprimanded for that mistake, but was not left out of the side by manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Lampard said that Cole is a player that always gives his 100% in every game, and termed him the best left-back in the world.
The Blue’s midfielder hopes that the big win against Manchester United will help his team lift their performance level to make a late push for the title, or at least getting into the top two of the League.
The defending champion are still 12 points behind Manchester United, and Lampard admitted that their win will help Arsenal in their bid for the title.
Chelsea moved ahead of Tottenham on the table and is now in 4th position, which is a bare minimum requirement for them. This will enable them to be part of UEFA Champions League next season. For now their only realistic hope of winning the title
remains in the Champions League, where they have already won the first leg of final 16 tie against Copenhagen 2-0.
