http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097 claims Chelsea can still win the league – Premier League update
Frank Lampard, the veteran http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 player, believes that his squad still has a chance at coming out on top. Following Chelsea’s win over Manchester United, the team is now twelve points behind the Red Devils with a game in hand. As a result it seems like the team has finally regained their confidence, which is evident from Lampard comments.
Despite Carlo Ancelotti having stated that his side are well out of the title race, it seems like Lampard is one of the people who disagrees with the Blues manager. According to the prolific midfielder, if Chelsea keep up their winning ways, they could be back in the title race.
The midfielder is reported to have said: "We usually put a run of wins together but we haven't done it so far this season. It is something we need to do now to give us a chance. Lately we haven't been playing like that but we can get back to those high levels. They still have it in their own hands and 12 points is a good lead. We have to keep winning. We have just made the first step but we are satisfied with the result and with the fact that we have moved into fourth and are just two points behind Manchester City."
It seems like this win over United has done to the team, what Ancelotti has been trying to do all season long. There is finally a sense of urgency and a will to perform at Stamford Bridge once again. This positive attitude has come at the best possible time for the Blues.
The team really needs to get back to their former best right now, if they are to stand any chance of qualifying for a Champions League spot, or even potentially having a chance at winning the Premier League crown. However, despite Lampard having stated his desire and the team’s motives, the rest of the team needs to follow through as well.
With Lampard paving the way, it is only a matter of time before the rest of the Blues team follows in his footsteps and starts to get the same motivation flowing through their veins. It is safe to say that the older players in the squad are not going to have any difficulty in doing just that. It still has to be seen if the younger and less experienced player will have the foresight and ambition to follow Lampard on the feild.
Atlso, at the moment, it seems like the cheaper part of the seventy five million pound signings that Chelsea made in January are more in-line with this thought process. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 seems to be a lost cause at the moment and completely in a world of his own. The player has failed to impress so far for the Blues and a world class performance in the near future is highly anticipated by all of his fans.
United is not by any means winding down for the season but if Ancelotti can manage to use the spirit that Lampard has shown to get his team back on track, then who knows, perhaps Chelsea could reach the summit once again.
