Frank Lampard claims Chelsea have lost their way
Chelsea talismanic midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097 has gone on to admit that there is a crisis going on at Stamford Bridge. However the player then went on to add that the problems that the team are experiencing are not because of Ray Wilkins' departure from the
club.
Last season, Chelsea went on to lift the Premier League and the FA Cup and seemed to continue that hot streak at the start of the season. However, a defeat to Fulham in November saw the team drop its form in rather drastic fashion and now the mighty Blues
have only won one league game and lost four since then. This poor run of form, has seen the team drop to fifth place, nine points behind league leaders, Manchester United.
Most people blamed the rather bizarre dip in form to the departure of Ray Wilkins from the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 staff. However, Lampard has gone on to insist that the teams poor form is not due to Wilkins absence.
Lampard is reported to have said, "We won the double last year, all of us together including Ray. Ray is no longer here.
"But the club makes the decisions and, if Roman Abramovich wasn't here, we wouldn't have won three Premier League titles.”
The player then went on to state, that there was a lack of ambition and determination that was being shown by the players at the club. He then stated that he could get himself as determined as he wanted to, but if no one else was on the same page, then his
efforts would be off no use.
Lampard finally ended by comparing the current run of form, to the end of Luiz Felipe Scolari’s reign at the club.
"The end of (Luiz Felipe)Scolari's reign was a bit like this. You lose the feeling of being able to win every week. Once you've had that and lose it, it's hard to get it back.”
It is still unclear as to what Lampard is trying to prove with his statements, since all he has really done is claim that the team’s poor form is not due to the departure of Wilkins from the team. Nonetheless, the fact that he is comparing Carlo Ancelotti
to Scolari, might mean that the Italian’s reign at the club could be over sooner rather than later.
