Frank Lampard fit to face West Ham United
Chelsea manager, Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Frank Lampard has managed to recover from a hernia operation that he undertook ahead of schedule and will be fit to start against West Ham on Saturday.
The prolific midfielder went under the knife as close as two weeks ago in a clinic in Germany, however the midfield superstar is expected to be more than ready to go for the Blue's trip to Upton Park.
Chelsea are currently on top on the Premier League table after recording three wins in a row and having scored fourteen goals and conceded none.
The Italian manager was caught saying to the Daily Star "For sure, Frank will be fit for the West Ham game."
However despite that, the manager went on to deny that Lampard deliberately put his club before his country. This was because the thirty two year old had to be pulled out of selection for the national team’s Euro 2012 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Switzerland.
Ancelotti said:"No, we didn't decide at the start of the season to do this now.
"After the Stoke game, Frank was in a lot of pain.
"So he decided, after talking to the club doctor, to resolve and remove the problem immediately."
However the manager also said that he wished to bring felicity to the Cheslea supporters after the current Champions of England got off to a tremendous start.
The manager was also more than satisfied after his team scored a hundred and three goals last season. He said he wished to continue that same form this season.
The manager was reported to have said, "Our aim is to play football to give joy, to give felicity to the people, to the fans and not just the Chelsea fans."
Lampard was a crucial part of the team last season, some might even say he was the reason they scored all the goals that they did. He operated like the fulcrum to the team and held it together, he dictated the play and the pace of the game.
If Lampard is to go missing for a few games, there is no player in near sight to replace the player, such is the quality that the midfielder possesses. He is quite possibly the only midfielder in the world to have scored over twenty goals in every season that he has played for his team. It is a record that only few strikers would be proud of.
Perhaps it is the player’s ability with and without the ball that has the fans chanting his name day in and day out. He is also one of the most unselfish players to play the modern game, even if he is clear on goal and has space to take the shot he would look for a team mate first and see if they are in a better position than he is to score.
Abilities like these coupled with his all round performances have earned him the rightfully deserved name of 'Super Frankie Lampard' at Stamford Bridge. However it might not be long before football fans all over the globe start hailing the player with his locally renowned nick name.
