Chelsea’s Frank Lampard has said that he is quite grateful to have worked under Jose Mourinho, as he feels the Portuguese manager is one of the best in the business.
Mourinho was brought back into the team once the previous season ended, as the club felt that he was the only person around, who could help the team progress even further.
Lampard, who has been one of Mourinho’s biggest fans, has now said that it was the Portuguese manager who helped him improve his game far more than he thought possible.
“He's a great manager, I've said it a million times to the point of boring people, but I'm very fortunate to have worked under him before,” said Lampard. “He took my game on a million miles. A lot of the reasons I moved on in the game are because of him.
He creates a spirit in his squads that you can see from the outside is very, very strong. He's a top-class manager, we all know that.”
He then went on to talk about the national team, as he admitted that he would love to get more involved with the Three Lions, since he still feels that he might be able to go on and make the world cup squad with the national team.
When talking about that, and discussing his chances of playing for the Three Lions, Lampard said, “It is a big year. I would love to stay involved with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 until the World Cup. I need to be playing regularly and well to do that, and we have a big squad.”
Lampard has become the Blues all time leading goal scorer, as he went on to tap into his best form near the end of the previous season.
Mourinho will be hoping for the midfielder to display that form once again this time around, however, it is safe to assume that Lampard might not feature in as many games as the fans would want him to.
However, Mourinho is bound to have a plan for the player, which is something that he will deploy once the new season kicks off.
