Frank Lampard says Chelsea is a long way out of the Barclays Premier League

Chelsea midfielder, Frank Lampard, has admitted that it is almost impossible for his team to win the Barclays Premier League even after winning against Manchester United last night.
The English midfielder said, “I don't know about firmly back in it, it's still a lot of points. But all we could do today was win the game, try to show a signal that we're trying to get back in it and close that gap. We did that today but there's still a
long way to go. Man United are deservedly top but we've got some fight as we showed tonight.”
Chelsea played host to Manchester United last night, a match which was tipped as a crucial fixture for the future both clubs. Manchester United, who entered the game 15 points above Chelsea, opened the scoring in the 30th minute through Wayne
Rooney. It was the fifth goal for the English striker in as many games.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s team proved to be a much stronger force in the first half and dominated the game by enjoying the most possession of the ball. However, the home side bounced back in an empathetic fashion and it took them only ten minutes into the second
half to score the equaliser. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 colours.
Then in the 79th minute Chelsea was awarded a penalty after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097 stepped up to take the penalty and the Englishman fired the ball in the middle of the goal to put the Blues
in the lead.
Manchester United were dealt a huge blow when their skipper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nemanja-Vidic-c27550, was shown a second yellow card by Martin Atkinson in the dying stages of game. This ruled the Serbian out of the upcoming crucial visit to Anfield this Sunday.
Carlo Ancelotti hailed his team performance against United and challenged his team to work their way back into the top four of the Barclays Premier League.
The Blues boss said, “It was a good performance and we are still alive. We played well, it was a very difficult game and we found a fantastic opponent but the team played really well to still go forward when we are losing 1-0. We kept going with strength,
intensity and power in our performance.”
It was only Manchester United’s second defeat of the season. However, the three point loss at the Bridge has put them within reach of second-placed Arsenal.
Chelsea marched back into the top four with a win over United and are now only 12 points behind Manchester United and a point above Tottenham Hotspur.
