Frank Maloney: Court should figure out the real reason of Darren Sutherland’s death - Boxing news
Frank Maloney, the well known British promoter and manager, recently dubbed the hearing of one of his client’s unexpected death as a wild goose chase adding that the authorities should ponder the real reason which irked Darren Sutherland to commit suicide.
Darren, a 27-year-old 2008 Olympic bronze medallist, was found dead in his room on September 14, 2009 and since then his promoter Frank has been dubbed as the man behind his sad demise.
Maloney who is currently attending the court hearing’s and is trying to clear himself off the allegations for being behind the young Briton’s death, recently shared his thoughts about the trial on his twitter account.
Frank was of the view that the concerned authorities are not trying to investigate the reasons as to why Darren committed suicide adding that he is totally shocked at the lies of the attorney’s in the court hearing.
Maloney said that he is being wrongly pinpointed and the medical examiner should concentrate on finding the real cause of death rather than pointing fingers at his character.
Frank tweeted, “What a witch-hunt going on instead of trying to find the real reason he died. My head is rocking after... the lies today.” At the same time Dr. Roy Palmer, the medical superintendent of the case, commented that Frank has no need to panic
at what’s going on in the court since, at the moment, only evidences are being put forth and Maloney will be given the due chance to explain his point of view.
Roy Palmer remarked, “No-one is on trial in a coroner’s court. Lots of evidence has been given, some apparently critical of Mr Maloney. He will have every opportunity to give evidence and can counter what has been said.”
According to the details, Darren who just fought four bouts in his professional career and won all of them by knockout, was reported in his last days to be tense and under extreme stress because of several financial and personal problems.
According to Michele Roitt, the psychologist who just met a few days before Sutherland’s suicide, Darren just wanted, “be in bed under the covers and have my mum look after me.”
The court has now called on Frank Maloney to hear his point of view and will jot down his explanation to the allegations pointed towards him.
