Frank Pipp and Jacobe Keough big movers in US National Road Circuit - Cycling news

There has been a lot of changes in the US National Road Circuit (NRC) with almost all the team categories affected by racing in the last week at the Speedweek stage race and Joe Martin stage race in Fayetteville.
In the US round up, Frank Pipp of the Bissell Pro Cycling team, used three top-10 finish wins to claim the Joe Martin Stage Race in Fayetteville, which included Sunday’s 85 kilometres criterium race.
In addition to the Sunday result, Frank Pipp was in fourth place in Friday’s 110 kilometers road race and was in seventh place in Thursday’s Devil’s Den 2.5 kilometres time trial race. In Saturday’s 81 kilometres road race Frank was in 26th place.
In the women’s category, Janel Holcomb of the Colavita Forno D’Asolo team was on top in the general classification of an NRC event after winning the Joe Martin stage race. This was the first victory of his career.
Janel Holcomb was in 29th place in Friday’s road race while she also won the time trail and Saturday’s road race. She again showed a good performance in Sunday’s Criterium race and was placed sixth.
Following seven events of intense racing, US Crit Series Speedweek was dominated by Jacobe Keough of the UnitedHealthcare Professional Cycling team as he won the men’s award in a 225 person field and gained 1,621 points.
Jacobe Keough won the three criteriums stage race. Jacobe has not finished less than a 12th position in any of the seven events. His team-mate Hilton Clarke was in second place and was 20 points behind Keough.
In the women’s Category, Laura Van Glider of the Mellow Mushroom team emerged on top of a 79-woman field as the omnium winner. In the seven events of racing, Laura Van stayed in the top five and led a total of 11 laps in the race.
Men’s NRC standing
Francisco Mancebo of the Real Cyclists team remains the leader of National Road Circuit standing with 575 points. Jacques-Maynes of the Bissell Pro Cycling team was in second place with 222 points. Maynes, team-mate Christopher Baldwin was in third spot
with 170 points.
After winning the Joe Martin Stage race in Fayetteville, Frank Pipp climbed from 35th to fourth in the overall standing and gained 170 points. While Real Cyclists teammate Cesar Grajales grabbed fifth place with 166 points.
Women NRC standing
Janel Holcomb of the Colavita-Forno Team has moved from fourth place to first place in NRC standing with 368 points. Clara Hughes was in second spot with 244 points while Amber Neben of HTC-Highroad women team slipped down to third place with 217 points
but he remain ahead of Mara Abbott with 201 points.
After last week’s./ result, the top three of NRC women team standing are unchanged Primal-MapMyRider Women Racing team slipped in to fourth place ahead of Diadora Pasta Zara.
