Frank Ribery and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrice-Evra-c29231 recalled for France --- Euro 2012 qualifiers update
Patrice Evra and Franck Ribery have been recalled to the French national team for Les Blues’ Euro 2012 qualifier against Luxembourg on 25 March 2011. The two players were involved in a player protest after former coach, Raymond Domenech, excluded striker
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicolas-Anelka-c27786 from the French squad in the FIFA World Cup 2010 finals.
Anelka was sent home after he abused Domenech and refused to apologise. The French players boycotted a training session, and Evra and Ribery were thought to be the masterminds behind the fiasco.
In the aftermath to the incident, the duo was handed five and three match bans respectively. Despite the bans ending some time back, the players have missed out on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 for the last seven Internationals. Ribery has had problems with repetitive injuries
while in-form Barcelona player, Eric Abidal, has kept Evra out of the French side.
France head-coach, Laurent Blanc, has said, "We knew that there would be questions on the media side, and that there would be turbulence. But, I want to move on, think about the present and the future but by recalling Franck and Patrice, we were aware that
part of the week would be devoted to the events of the past. But it was the best way to close this chapter."
In the previous Euro 2012 qualifying match between France and Luxembourg, played on 12 October 2010, the French side were victorious 2-0. Blanc admitted that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luxembourg-c2945 caused problems to his side in that match as they were organized defensively.
Blanc added that Ribery is going to be one of the key players against Luxembourg. The Bayern Munich wing wizard is known for his dribbling skills and quick passing.
Blanc said on Ribery, “When you play a team regrouped in front of their goal, if a player happens to eliminate one or two players, then you arrange things properly. Franck is one of those players who can do this. Luxembourg will play with quality and to their
own strength. We have to destabilize them by provoking them, and try to force them to make mistakes especially from set pieces.”
Barcelona’s Abidal has been diagnosed with a liver tumour and will be unavailable; Evra is expected to fill in his place.
