Frank Schleck faces the Luxembourg Anti-Doping Agency for the Tour de France doping allegations
Frank Schleck of Team RadioShack-Nissan is still not sure about his future and the cyclist will face the Luxembourg Anti-Doping committee for the same as reported by l'essentiel.lu earlier.
The 32-year-old has struggled to perform to his true potential in the current season and has not bagged any wins throughout the season.
His only three commendable performances in the current year include a third place finish at the stage 7 of the Giro d’Italia, second overall at the Tour de Suisse and the third overall position at the Tour de Luxembourg 2012.
He led the side at the Giro and also had to ride the Tour de France without his brother Andy for the first time in five years.
Frank finished third during the Tour de France 2011 with his brother Andy at the second spot behind the race leader Cadel Evans.
The Luxembourg cyclist tested positive for Xipamide after a test taken during the Tour de France on July 14, 2012.
The sample B also returned positive on July 20 but the cyclist insisted that he had done nothing wrong and had been a victim of poisoning.
"The medical world states that this product, when performing in extreme conditions such as in a cycling tour, is very dangerous; it can even cause death," he voiced.
"Therefore I really need to find the cause that clarifies how this product ended up in my system: since I didn't take anything”.
“I assume it must have been given to me by someone, or it could have happened through an accidental contamination, or it could be caused by something that is not yet known to me since we are still undertaking a number of analyses".
Team RadioShack-Nissan has faced a lot of setbacks in the 2012 season and such incidents have really the team’s performance.
Andy Schleck was expected to lead the side at the Tour de France but a knee injury prevented him from bagging even a single win in the current season.
Team Manager Johan Bruyneel is also facing charges for trafficking and administering UCI banned substances previously in his career.
It will be interesting to see if Frank manages to prove his innocence to the Luxembourg Anti-Doping Agency and also the Court of Arbitration for Sport, if needed.
