Frank Warren: Ricky Burns has the requisite qualities to be a Hall of Famer – Boxing news
Frank Warren has said that Ricky Burns has a desire to beat every opponent and the world will soon see him standing alongside him as a hall of famer since he has achieved much in a small age.
Ricky Burns is scheduled to take on Paulus Moses in a 12-round bout and will defend his interim WBO lightweight gold. The stage for the epic bout will be stretched at Braehead Arena situated in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom. The show will be televised
live on Hungary Sport 1 on March 10, 2012.
The duo will headline the Saturday night main event and the whole pay-per-view is compiled, organised and promoted by Frank Warren promotions. Frank in a recent interview placed his sheer trust in the 28-year-old Scottish and said that he has the guts to
nail the Namibian Moses.
Frank said that Ricky should be praised by not only the Scottish fans but also the British ones since he has undoubtedly become the best in the whole of United Kingdom. Warren commented that Ricky is a loving individual but once he enters the ring, the cool-headed
Burns becomes a vicious predator who brutally punishes his opponents.
While pinpointing two of Burns epic bouts, Warren said that his win against Robert Martinez though was not much appreciated yet it was a masterpiece since ‘Rickster’ threw everything to grasp the WBO super featherweight gold. Frank informed that Ricky started
to shine in the limelight when he recently nailed the Aussie Michael Katsidis and won the WBO interim lightweight title.
Frank denoted Ricky’s current bout against Mosses a golden chance for the young lad to reach the next level.
Warren commented, “He went on to give a masterclass against Michael Katsidis. It was a fabulous display and that should have made him a British sporting hero. But this could be the fight that gets the entire country raving about him.”
Hailing the Namibian Mosses, Warren commented, “This will be Ricky’s toughest test against a fellow with a very impressive record and someone who travels well, and I think the public is well aware of that. Moses isn’t coming here just to make up the numbers.
He won the world title in Japan and that’s never an easy thing to do.”
Paulus, widely known as ‘The Hitman’, has been in a total 29 bouts and came out victorious in 28. Burns, on the other hand, has entered the ring a total 35 times and emerged as a victor in 33 bouts. This will be Barns first title defence and it must be kept
in mind that Mosses is a former WBA world lightweight titleholder.
