Frank Warren angry at Tyson Fury’s outburst against Dereck Chisora – Boxing News
Dereck Chisora’s English boxing manager and promoter, Frank Warren, was furious at Tyson Fury for all the negative language used in the pre-fight press conference ahead of the bout.
The unbeaten Irish-English pugilist, Tyson Fury, who will take on the British and Commonwealth title holder, Dereck Chisora, on July 23, at Wembley Arena in London, vowed he will kill his fellow Brit in the ring on fight night. Moreover, the 23-year-old Fury, who has won all 14 of his fights including 10 by the way of a knockout, used foul language with regards to Chisora.
Though he later apologized for his behaviour, Warren was livid and wrote an angry letter to the general secretary of the British Board of Boxing Control complaining about Fury.
Warren believes it was totally unprofessional behaviour from Fury, which did nothing good for the bout. He suggested the general secretary take care of the matter, as there is no place for these sorts of statements in Boxing.
In the end, the enraged manager remarked that his boxer will not attend the pre-fight press conference.
Warren further said, "It's totally unacceptable, unprofessional and unprovoked behaviour. It did nothing to enhance a British title fight. It doesn't enhance the sport as a whole, either. His vile insults and disgusting comments have no place in British boxing. Fury hasn't got much upstairs. In my view, empty vessels make the most noise. My man will not be at the head-to-head press conference on Monday listening to any more of that talk."
Despite the apology from the 6 ft 9 in Fury matters have not settled down. Fury actually defended his comments and said he was in no mood for aggression but when Chisora stated he has no heart at the press conference, he lost his emotions.
"I didn't come on to this phone call to be aggressive, but when he comes out with stuff about me having no heart, what do you expect me to do?,” said Fury.
With the bout around the corner this new confrontation may come out on the ring and create a very tense situation.
