Frank Warren assures David Haye vs. Dereck Chisora will happen – Boxing News
Frank Warren, boxing promoter, assures fans that the grudge match between David Haye and Dereck Chisora will happen at any cost, despite the severe warnings issued by the BBBC. Earlier this month, there were rumours that the event will not take place. However,
Frank Warren has assured fans that the event will happen no matter what happens.
Frank said, “This is a good fight, a quality fight. What happened in the past happened, it was months ago. The guys are not banned from boxing, the fight will take place – it is a good fight and as I said it is a fight the fans want to see. Whatever these
guys have got against each other, [they can] sort it out and settle it in the ring and that is what is going to happen on 14 July. The fact of the matter is … this fight is sanctioned by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation and is also sanctioned by the WBO, that
is what it is, the rest of it doesn't matter.”
Last week, Frank Warren published on his website that he will be suing the British Board of Boxing Control for taking action against fighters, managers and promoters who are willing to participate in the event. David Haye vs. Dereck Chisora is scheduled
for July 14 at the Upton Park in London. The BBBC has warned officials against participating in the event. According to the BBBC, any official who will participate will have his license cancelled.
David Haye and Dereck Chisora had a barehanded brawl in Munich earlier this year at the post-bout press conference of Vitali Klitschko vs. Dereck Chisora. Dereck Chisora had lost to Vitali Klitschko. He was fuming with rage just when David Haye mocked him
and they both went ahead to fight each other. Since then, speculations of a match between both the British fighters were on the cards and now it is finally happening. However, it should be noted here that this bout is not being sanctioned by the BBBC, instead
by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation. Since both the fighters are not British licensed fighters, they are not allowed by the BBBC to fight within Britain.
