Frank Warren certain of Haye vs. Vitali – Boxing News
After David Haye left Chisora stunned by a superb knockout victory, Frank Warren, promoter for Haye, revealed a fight between Haye and Vitali Klitschko could happen. Even though Vitali is on the verge of retirement, Warren believes both the fighters should
go head to head for the fans.
“It will happen, 100 per cent, unless Vitali retires. If Dereck had won he'd have fought Wladimir, if David won he was going to fight Vitali,” said Warren regarding the possibility of a bout between Haye and Klitschko.
He added, “Now David against Vitali is a natural fight. I was impressed with David against Chisora and he's made me change my opinion of him. David fights a lot off his back foot and if you do that against big guys, it suits their game plan. But if you jump
on them and get under that jab, the one thing they can't do is fight on the inside and deal with a high work rate.”
It should be noted here that Warren has previously accused of Vitali Klitschko of cancelling the fight contract with Haye. For now, the Ukrainian WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko is planning to retire from the sport to pursue his political goals.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that Vitali will have his last fight in September this year and it will not be against David Haye.
While Haye’s camp blames Vitali for running away from the fight, Vitali’s manager insists it was Haye who never agreed to fight Vitali. According to Vitali’s manager, Haye wanted to pursue a grudge match against Dereck Chisora, which is why he shrugged off
the possibility of a bout against Vitali Klitschko.
For now, David Haye is satisfied with his career. After knocking out Chisora in the fifth round, Haye believes he has accomplished all that a fighter could. He is now least bothered of a fight between him and Vitali. In his recent interview, Haye came up
saying that he wants to fight Vitali, but if the showdown does not happen, he will leave the sport with a smile on his face unlike last time.
