Frank Warren confirms Chisora’s appeal – Boxing News
Frank Warren, Dereck Chisora’s promoter, has confirmed that his fighter has filed an appeal with the British Boxing Board of Control in order to get his license retrieved. Warren further said that once Chisora gets his license, the bout between Chisora and
Haye would happen.
Chisora’s appeal came in as a retaliation to the British Boxing of Control’s decision of banning him for an indefinite period. Chisora’s license was cancelled and he was suggested to take anger management classes by the board.
On the occasion, talking about the events that caused Chisora to be in such circumstances and his Chisora’s possible bout against Haye, Warren said, “It’s a natural fight, it doesn’t matter what anyone says. It’s a bigger fight than either of them fighting
Wladimir or Vitali Klitschko. There’s lot for them to fight about – in a proper environment. I do see the fight happening. It’s the proper forum for them to settle their differences.”
Dereck Chisora faced WBC World Heavyweight Champion Vitali Klitschko last month. Before the bout, Chisora slapped Vitali at the face-off photography session while Vitali kept his cool. Before the fight began, Chisora spat water on Vitali’s younger brother
Wladimir’s face. After the Chisora lost to Vitali, he was furious and at the post-bout conference, he lashed out on Vitali. In addition, present at the conference was David Haye who provoked Chisora. Both the fighters ended up in a barehanded brawl hurting
many others who were trying to stop them.
Chisora mainly faced the repercussions of the events. The German police took both the fighters in for interrogation and released them shortly. Since David Haye is not a British licensed boxer, the British Boxing Board of Control was unable to take any action
against him. However, Chisora got into the net and faced severe consequences.
For now, there is no news on when the next hearing would be. Chisora is hopeful that the board will show mercy towards him. In his previous interview, Chisora apologised for the happenings and said that he wants to continue with his career if the board allows
him to do so.
