Frank Warren talks about a four-way heavyweight event – Boxing News
Briton promoter Frank Warren is known for coming up with controversial ideas and comments but this time it seems like Warren has a plan to discuss that fans would love. Warren believes the top four heavyweight contenders, David Haye, Tyson Fury, David Price
and Dereck Chisora, would face each other in four-way heavyweight showdown. For Warren, it would be an all-British heavyweight tournament, hoping it would appease boxing hungry fans in UK.
“There are some sizzling domestic scores that need settling,” said Warren in his column for the Sun.
“David Haye, David Price and Tyson Fury are three big men with big digs and big question marks remaining over their durability. Add Dereck Chisora, rumoured to be re-applying for his British license, then pair any two in semi-finals with the victors to meet
and determine the 'Don'. All would fill football stadiums,” he added.
It should be noted here that currently David Price is the man who is being considered to fight the Vitali Brothers next for the title. David Haye has already lost to Wladimir Klitschko, Chisora has lost to Vitali while Tyson Fury stands little to no chance
to get the shot. In other words, it is Price who is in line to get the title shot only if he agrees to face Vitali or Wladimir.
Unfortunately, David Price believes he is not yet ready to go against a Klitschko so soon. Price believes he needs more experience in the sport in order to face the titans of the sport. Of course, if Warren’s dream event happens, Price will get plenty of
experience fighting the top fighters in the division.
David Price has already garnered enough attention from boxing fans by defeating some of the best fighters in the world. He recently defeated Skelton and Audley Harrison to establish his dominance in the division.
On the other hand, David Haye is not really interested in facing any contenders, instead he wants to go head to head with a Klitschko, believing he has already earned the shot following his victory over Dereck Chisora earlier this year via fifth round knockout.
