The Dutch trainer admitted that his side fought hard in their UEFA Europa League clash against the Red Devils and insisted that they needed a bit of luck to secure a good result.
Manchester United recorded a routine 2-0 win over Ajax Amsterdam in the first-leg of the UEFA Europa League’s last-32 round at Amsterdam Arena on Thursday, February 16.
The Amsterdammers head coach, Frank de Boer, asserted that his side needed a bit of luck to secure a good result while insisting that his troops fought hard against the English premier League giants.
Ajax dominated proceedings in the opening 45 minutes of action and managed to force http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-de-Gea-c10463 into some decent saves. However, goals from Ashley Young and Javier Hernandez in the second-half sealed a comfortable 2-0 victory for the visitors.

“To beat a team like Manchester United, everyone needs to play at 100 per cent and you also need a bit of luck. The big difference between us and the big European teams is that they only need a small chance to score. We had chances and didn't score”, De

The Dutch mentor then went on to insist that his side’s chances to overcome United at Old Trafford are very slim.
“I am realistic. I don't think we are going to make it at Old Trafford. But we will go there for the experience and hope to have a fantastic evening”, De Boer added.
The Dutchman also revealed that many scouts came to Amsterdam to watch http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jan-Vertonghen-c17814 against the Red Devils, but insisted that his side will still look to hold on to their prized assets for the coming seasons.
“They will definitely reach the level of teams like Manchester United in the coming years. Hopefully we can keep hold of them for as long as possible”, De Boer concluded.
