The Dutch trainer hailed his side’s impressive 3-1 win over the English champions in a UEFA Champions League game, while insisting that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini’s men had no answer to his side’s dazzling show.
Ajax Amsterdam head coach, Frank de Boer, was extremely delighted with his side’s convincing 3-1 win in a UEFA Champions League game against Manchester City at Amsterdam Arena on Wednesday, October 24.
The Dutch mentor was all praise for his troops’ stunning show throughout the 90 minutes, and revealed that he was confident to bag all three points.
“I know what we are capable of. I think we saw a good Ajax today that wanted to show something good. We played quite good sometimes. City didn't have an answer to our play. There was a difficult time for us, but after that, we picked it up again and deserved
the win”, De Boer was quoted as saying to the media in the post match press conference.
The Amsterdammers commenced proceedings brightly, but it was City who netted the opener, when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360 curled in a right-footed shot that found the top right corner of the net.
However, De Joden managed to restore parity at the stroke of half-time through http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Siem-de-Jong-c33482, while Niklas Moisander’s strike gave the Amsterdammers a well deserved lead in the 57th minute.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Eriksen-c9074 added his name to the score-sheet in the 68th minute to seal an impressive 3-1 victory over the English champions.
De Jong was also very pleased to see his side register their first victory in the Europe’s most prestigious club competition, and insisted that his side remained the better side on the pitch throughout the 90 minutes.
“We expected a lot of danger from them, because they have so much quality in front. They scored on their first chance, while we were the better team. Now we should get a result in Manchester, or else this result isn't much worth”, the 23-year-old said while
talking to journalists.
Ajax will lock horns against Manchester City in their next Champions League encounter at City of Manchester Stadium on November 6.
