Ajax Amsterdam manager, Frank de Boer, has revealed that Mounir El Hamdaoui does not fit into his side as a player and admitted that the striker would be pursuing his career away from Amsterdam in the new season.
The Moroccan International arrived at Amsterdam Arena in the summer of 2010, after scoring 50 goals in 80 appearances for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar. The technically gifted striker performed impressively in the first-half of the 2010/11 season, scoring 11 goals in 17 appearances.
However, since De Boer took over the head coach position at Amsterdam Arena from Martin Jol in December 2010, the Moroccan ace has struggled to perform on the pitch.
Nonetheless, the 27-year-old’s performances in the first half of the 2010/11 season were enough to gather interest from a host of European clubs. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Udinese-Calcio-c40789 have all have expressed their interest in signing the
27-year-old in the ongoing summer transfer market, but http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 remain the only club to have approached Ajax with a formal offer.
Although De Boer admitted that the striker was a great success under the leadership of Jol, he revealed that the Moroccan International does not fit into his plans.
“I believe Mounir does not fit as a footballer into the team. He always plays differently than other boys. In the system of Jol, Mounir and Suarez adjusted very well up-front. But I play more by Ajax’s own philosophy in which all players are involved in
attack and defence. Everyone is equally important”, De Boer said while talking to the media.
The 27-year-old’s current contract with the Amsterdammers runs until the summer of 2014, but the club management are looking to offload the striker before the new season commences.
For his part, the striker also wants to pursue his career away from Amsterdam in the 2011/12 campaign. Reports suggest that an offer in the region of 4 million Euros would be enough to lure the Moroccan International away from Amsterdam Arena.
