The Ajax Amsterdam boss has insisted that Bert van Marwijk’s side must emerge victorious against the Danes in their Euro 2012 opening tie.
Frank de Boer, the former Dutch international, has insisted that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 must start their Euro 2012 campaign in Poland and Ukraine with a win against Denmark. The Oranje will lock horns against the Danish Dynamite at Metalist
Kharkiv Stadium on June 9.
The Oranje are pitted in the Group B alongside Germany, Portugal and Denmark. It has been touted as the most difficult amongst all the groups, and many have termed it as the group of death.
“When you see the quality of the other teams in our group see the stars they have, you cannot deny there is a lot of quality. Therefore, they must win the first game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884 because then you will get a good atmosphere in
the group. If you lose, the pressure is immense and that can become fatal”, De Boer said while talking to journalists.
The 42-year-old, who has led the Amsterdam giants to two successive Eredivisie title since taking over the managerial hot seat at Amsterdam Arena from Martin Jol in December 2010, went on to express optimism regarding the Oranje’s
chances to succeed at European Championship.
However, the Dutchman has admitted that the reigning European champions, Spain, are without a doubt the favourites to successfully defend their title.
