Frank de Boer confirms Jan Vertonghen’s possible link with Manchester City - Eredivisie news
Ajax Amsterdam coach, Frank de Boer, has confirmed that Premier League side, Manchester City, have shown interest in their defensive midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini
is keen on bringing the youngster to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 for the upcoming 2011/12 season.
Vertonghen has also been previously linked with several other top European clubs but not concrete developments were achieved. De Boer admitted of Mancini’s interest in the defender and had mixed feelings whether he would allow him to leave.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan manager has been in search of a left-footed defender and Vertonghen could easily serve this purpose for the Citizens. Mancini was also present during the KNVB Beker final in order to monitor progress of the Belgian International. The

The 24-year-old joined the Dutch outfit in 2006 but was loaned out to Waalwijk during the same year. After making a return to Ajax, the youngster succeeded in cementing his place in the starting line-up and is now a regular member of Frank de Boer’s side.
During this time, Vertonghen has managed to make 112 League appearances for his club so far from which he has bagged 22 goals. He also has made 30 International appearances for the Belgian national side and has two goals under his belt so far.
