Ajax Amsterdam cruised to a comfortable 2-0 win over RKC Waalwijk, and the former Barcelona player was all praise for the former Liverpool and Schalke player’s display on the pitch.

Poulsen, who started his professional career at Holbaek in the 1997/98 season, joined the Amsterdam giants on a free transfer in the recently summer transfer window after representing Evian in 24 games.

Poulsen made his first appearance while wearing Ajax colours against RKC, and played 68 minutes of the game before being replaced with Jody Lukoki.
“Christian played capably. He brings experience and calm to the team”, De Boer was quoted as saying to the Dutch media.

The former Liverpool forward added his name to the assist-sheet, when he set up Lukoki for the Amsterdammers second goal of the evening, and De Boer expressed satisfaction on the 25-year-old’s display on the pitch.
“It was a nice move [which led to the second goal]. He played both on the left and as centre-forward”, the Dutch trainer added.
The 42-year-old tactician went on to stress that they will assess Babel’s performances in every game, and then will look where he could be used perfectly.
