The Ajax coach has heaped praise on La Liga outfit head coach ahead of the UEFA Champions League tie, while admitting that his side has gained great deal of experience from this edition of the Europe’s top tier competition.
Frank de Boer was all praise for Real Madrid head coach, Jose Mourinho, ahead of Ajax Amsterdam’s upcoming UEFA Champions League clash against Los Blancos at Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday, December 4.

“Mourinho is a fantastic coach. He wins trophies; he was champion of the Liga. If he thinks that is what he should do it’s not up to me to judge. If that’s how he protects the players and the club, perfect”, De Boer said while talking to reporters in the
pre-match press conference.
The Amsterdammers have already knocked out of the Europe’s most prestigious club competition, but will be gunning to finish third in the Group D to ensure their participation in UEFA Europa League after the winter break.
And the 42-year-old tactician has admitted that his side can compete in the Europe’s second tier club competition.
“The Champions League has left us feeling good. I think we can go far in the Europa League. There are some really good teams and we’ll have to fight, but I think we can do a good job”, De Boer added.
When asked about Kaka’s participation in Champions League thus far, the Dutch trainer open heartedly admitted that the Brazilian playmaker is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world, but has failed to deliver this term.
The 30-year-old, who has been plying his trade at Santiago Bernabeu since arriving in the summer of 2009 after making close to 300 appearances for AC Milan in all competitions, has only managed to represent the Madrid giants in eight games in all competitions
since the start of the ongoing 2012/13 season.
“Kaká had his opportunities. It’s a pity; he’s one of the best players in the world and it’s a shame that you don’t see that on the pitch”, De Boer concluded.
