The 42-year-old tactician has admitted that his side staged a below par show in the opening 45 minutes of the game, and has expressed his disappointment over his troops poor performance.
Ajax Amsterdam head coach, Frank de Boer, was extremely disappointed with his side’s 4-1 defeat at the hands of Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League game at Amsterdam Arena on Wednesday, October 3.

“We have played quite badly. We have not reached our [best] level and when you don't, you cannot win against Madrid. I'm disappointed, especially with the first 50 minutes. When it was 2-1 we created a bit more danger but we have not deserved to draw”, De
Boer was quoted as saying to reporters in the post-match press conference.
The Dutch trainer went on to insist that his troops gave too much respect to Jose Mourinho’s side, and never really managed to assert their authority on the pitch.
“We had to play solidly when we didn't have the ball and search the spaces when we did have it. We didn't do either and that's a shame. I always say to the players that you must respect your opponent, but you should never worship them. That's something we
did today and in that way you can never win against a team like Real”, De Boer concluded.
Although, the Madrid giants dominated proceedings right from the first whistle, they failed to break the deadlock until the 42nd minute, when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629 tapped home from close range on Karim Benzema’s pass.
