Frankel all set for his big day at the Queen Elizabeth 2 Stakes at Ascot on 15th October, 2011
Keeping up with the trend of being victorious and never letting the connections down, Frankel has now moved onto participating in the Queen Elizabeth 2 Stakes at Ascot on 15th October, 2011.
The undisputed racing horse is yet again being put on line and would be confronted by So You Think, Immortal Verse and Goldikova.
This time, against these legends, Sir Henry Cecil’s favourite is being made to put his earlier record at test.
He has not been spotted racing since his mesmerizing victory over Canford Cliffs in the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood. The Galileo colt has won all of his eight career races and his connections this time again are very excited about the race and its
outcome.
Grimthorpe said: "Henry is now beginning to crank up through the gears with Frankel as he builds up towards the QEII”.
The Queen Elizabeth two stakes is a Group One straight course event lined up for the thoroughbreds aged three years or older.
The event is held annually at the highly esteemed Ascot race course with a mile’s distance to be covered. This year the prize money for it set at £1,000,000 ($1,545,000 AUD).
It stands to be an exclusive event out of the other five big races. It will take place during the inaugural and highly anticipated Qipco British Champions Day at Ascot on October 15.
The colt is among thirty-one entries submitted by 2nd August. The event promises to exhibit talent of some of the most refine thoroughbreds and in case Frankel pulls it through, it will become his 9th straight victory.
The fans, crowds, connections and whosoever is interested in horse racing is very anxiously waiting to see Frankel and his fierce rival So You Think on the same track battling to get to the finishing line. Even though Frankel is the best racing horse but
there can be no bigger mistake than underestimating the other candidates.
Next in line to Frankel is the sensational Goldikova who has already won eight out of her last ten Group One races. She can turn out to be potential threat on the tracks as she too is racing for the prospect of her 9th victory out of the eleven
races.
The reason that Frankel is known to be the highest rated race horse is because this three year old miracle has earned over £1,300,000 with a Time Form rating of 142, higher than Black Caviar’s 135 and So You Think’s 134.
The only distressing factor in this race is the pinching absence of Canford Cliffs whose career was brought to an end very abruptly. Due to this in the later part of August most odds makers had removed odds on the Queen Elizabeth Two Stakes.
Now the forth coming challenge for Frankel no doubt is to keep the legendary record intact and to come up to the expectations entrusted on him. His manager has said:
"He looks amazing, although I would say that. He's just building up nicely towards his big day”.
