Frankel now holding the reigns of the stud duty
The racing icon who has taken the green, white and pink colours of Khalid Abdullah’s stable to the winner’s enclosure fourteen times in a row is now to embark a new career altogether. He delighted the connections when racing on the track, and is to set them
glad yet again while being top notch with his stud duty.
Galileo’s bay colt has been set as the third most expensive stallion who will stand stud with £125,000 fee. His father who was Irish based was reported to do his stud duty for around €300,000 while at Coolmore.
The Australian champion who gets to stand next to the expensive father-son duo was asset of the John Magnier operated syndicate, Fastnet Rock.  He stood for duty after the racing career for £144,000.
The fee has been decided for his very first season at duty (which starts in 2013) and is likely to hike up if the first off-spring in 2016 takes the charge of the tracks the way his father and grandfather did. However, for now, the connections of the mares
are ready to put in the investment for a future that cannot be made certain just as yet.
Frankel’s connections for now have denied the list of the mares to the media. The champion colt has already left for Abdullah’s Banstead Manor Stud from Sir Henry Cecil’s stables, Warren Place.
"The fee for Frankel reflects his merits as being perhaps the greatest racehorse we have ever witnessed. He is by Galileo, who is now recognised as the best sire in the world, and out of Kind, a winner of six races (from five to seven furlongs) and herself
a daughter of one of the most influential stallions in the history of thoroughbred breeding, Danehill."
"Bated Breath will give breeders the opportunity to use a most genuine sprinter who was placed second in four Group One races. Ironically, his father Dansili started his career at the same fee and he also just failed to win a Group One race."
The top-class sire to be, will be joining Bated Breath who was formerly trained by, Roger Charlton, and will charge £8,000 fee at the same stud.
More development will make further news as to which connections will send in the mares.
