Frankel’s participation in his season debut at Newbury raises a high level of excitement and anticipation
Frankel’s participation in the Group 1 JLT Lockinge Stakes (British Champions Series) is creating a buzz. It is reported that the Berkshire track at Newbury will be packed on 19th May, 2012, as the undefeated runner is all set
to compete in his first race of the season.
According to Newbury's joint managing director Stephen Higgins that the track is receiving significant media attention - which will work in favour of the sponsor as well as racing in general.

Due to Frankel’s popularity, the bets are pooling in from all directions.
Higgins stated that: "We've taken a lot of advance bookings during the past three weeks on the back of Frankel's intended run here, but we've known about the possibility for some time and we'll be ready.”
The son of Galileo, out of mare Kind, triumphed over the Marco Botti trained, Excelebration, at this track by 4 lengths in the Group 3 Totesport.com Greenham Stakes in April, 2011.
Referring to this performance, Higgins commented that:
"He won the Greenham here last year before going on to take the 2000 Guineas, and we're thrilled to bits to have him come back, particularly after the injury scare which threatened to delay his return.”
Sir Henry Cecil four-year-old colt trained colt has competed in nine starts and has gone on to win all nine.

This tenth race will be his seasonal debut, and some high hopes are pinned to this young runner.
Frankel’s supposed injury also caused some concern among his fans, but they breathed a sigh of relief as all his tests came back clear.

The injury scare will have an impact on the attendance.
Owned by Khalid Abdullah, the bay colt is in good health and has the stamina to make it through the race.

Along with all this, if the weather is good, the figure of people who are attending this event will go through the roof.
Whelped on 11th February, 2008, the runner has an impeccable record, and it seems that he is destined for a great future. The fact that he will be running against some tough competitors has raised the level of anticipation.
